Sending Joy

Kindness is the spirit’s heart wishing well for everyone. “I wish you well,” it says, “in everything you do and all you are. May your heart heal from all your past heartaches and may there be no suffering in your future.”

Kindness is a way of life, a belief system, that when chosen gives each moment the richness of God’s Love to all. To the one giving it as well as the receiver.

Walking this world with a kind heart spreads good will and shines light upon every dark corner of each mind. It blesses and transforms. And even when it seems not to be accepted or appreciated the light of kindness shines gently on. Like a star behind a cloud, it quietly waits for the cloud to move on not caring what the cloud is doing, but simply knowing there is a greater truth behind every cloud we see.

Forgiveness is the father of Kindness and Compassion is its Mother. Love is its nature. With such a family living within us we can only be what we are; blessed creations of a Divine Source, holy, whole and healed.

“I will use my body for holiness today.”

We can serve the ego and live a small life or we can serve God and be His gift to the world.  The choice of whom to serve lives in our mind, not the brain, but in the Spirit Mind.  When we make the choice to serve God as a teacher of His Love through gentle thoughts and acts of kindness and tolerance, then does the body have the power to be a healing tool in the world.  Without our decision to use it lovingly, the body is nothing but muscle and blood and bones, cells and organs strung together to make a form that walks the earth alone.  But use it for God’s purpose and it becomes something Holy and helpful and will bring us joy and great peace.

God sings our song.  He speaks the words we need to hear.  Now we can live in joyous oneness with Him and all His children dancing in His light and painting His pictures for our lives.

When I look upon the world, I see anything but gentleness. And that’s how I know I am not in my right mind. Looking through the eyes of insanity, insanity is all I see. But I truly want to see differently.

I want to see through the eyes of God and I want to see His Divine Universe. I want to see peace, not chaos and what’s more I know that it is possible. I know because I’ve seen it. Not just once but often. I open my vision, smile softly and pray “Thank you, God.” And there it is: another world, another way of thinking and of being. My mind grows quiet and my heart grows still and I know that all is well no matter how it looks.

We, God’s Children are not the insanity, we are the peace and we flow with His Grace on a mighty river of contentment and joy. And this is forever, because it just is. And you and I, we just are. And that is permanent and always. We smile gently with each other and at each other and our eyes are calm and we say thank you to each other. For what belongs to one belongs to all. And isn’t this a lovely place now? Once and forever I remember for us that “We are in danger nowhere  in the world.” and “We need be anxious over nothing.” A Course In Miracles

And that’s the truth.

A flash of light, a shout of joy, a world laughing in pure delight. Lots of happy noise.

A quiet mind, peaceful thoughts, gentle joining in pure oneness. Lots of holy instants.

Let’s make plans today to make miracles our first and only priority, understanding that anything that comes from love is a miracle.

So hug a child, make a friend, forgive an enemy. Smile at a stranger, call a parent, fulfill a need, give some time, share with someone, love yourself.

Lend an ear, open your mind, be compassionate, offer a kindness. Listen to your heart, listen to the hearts of others, smile with your eyes.

Heal a rift, lend a hand, say a prayer. Be a force for peace. Live in each moment, have some fun, count your blessings.

Lose the judgment, find your truth, trust yourself, act from love. Enjoy the flowers, sing with the birds, follow a rainbow, fly with angels.

Let your light shine, still your thoughts, be your best self, follow your path, enjoy your life, say thank you.

Rest and trust in God and watch for miracles … everywhere.

Let’s let joy flow like water over a stony brook. The water, clear as crystal, is not hampered by the stones, but only washes over them and travels on. In this way should our thoughts flow unhindered by the world’s challenges. Let our thoughts come through from a clear and loving place moving steadily through everything we do not want. And just as the brook polishes each stone that it courses over so our mind’s forgiving thoughts can smooth away any obstacles that try to trip us up and restrict us on our spirit’s journey into peace.

Every challenge now becomes a stepping stone toward truth. An opportunity to learn and grow. A lesson that we look at without concern and recognize as something helpful for which we can be grateful. Now we smile gently as the world becomes a simple place with God in charge as we rest in Him and let it all flow free.

Our minds are powerful gifts. We can use them to envision and manifest what we want.  It’s not so important to envision things as it is to envision happiness and love, peace and joy, health and light.  With these attributes, all that we need in things will happen as they should. 

Feel your breathing becoming deeper and slower.

See happiness as light shining through you.  Lift your face to its soothing warmth and hear your happy laughter. See yourself dancing with pure joy under a gentle sun, on a white beach by a silvery lake or ocean. Know that this joy is a gift that you deserve.  

See yourself at peace now, calm and quiet and filled with love. See Light pour into you and flow freely through you. Let all darkness from every corner of your mind disappear gently into this Light. Know the Light for what it is; God’s Love.

Peace is felt as free and easy; as you float weightlessly upon the silver lake. Feel the movement of the water under you gently rocking you into a state of oneness with your own true Self.

You have never felt calmer.
You have never felt healthier
You have never felt safer.
You have never felt happier. 

And you know that this feeling will go on forever. You know that even when the white beach and the silver lake are gone from your mind, the calm and quiet happiness that fills you now will never leave you as long as this is what you choose.  And if your old feelings begin to resurface, just bring back the vision and breathe quietly for a moment until peace returns. As you go about your day, feel gratitude fill you and overflow into the world as your whole being smiles with relief and joy.

“I will welcome butterflies today.”

Lightning doesn’t tickle and butterflies don’t sting. Remember any lessons we don’t learn with each other now will be repeated later.  We never get through life without learning what we came here to learn. The longer we put off learning, the harder it gets.  It starts with a quiet thought like a butterfly’s touch, then moves on to a pinch, then a shove, a kick, and finally a bolt of lightning. 

It isn’t God that is pinching, shoving, kicking or striking us with lightning. We are doing it to ourselves through the law of cause and effect. What we give to the world is what we bring upon ourselves. 

God never brings harm to His children. He just gently Loves us. Although He must be perplexed as to why we are choosing to beat ourselves up when all we have to do is simply accept our inheritance of happiness and joy. 

Why wait for lightning to strike when we can find our peace with just the tiny tickle of a butterfly’s wing?

“I will see myself as God sees me today.”

Let’s stand together on the top of the mountain and look down on the world. Not as a small insignificant being, but as the mountain itself. From this vantage point we can almost see what God sees, ourselves as majestic beings and holy creations of a power so lofty that we cannot even imagine it. And yet it is the truth of us.

Even the seeming most lowly of us is the most high. From here, our beauty takes our breath away. Our power to give and receive love is beyond awesome.

In God’s eyes we are a thing of wonder. And when we join forces from this place of truth we cannot be stopped.

Like the ocean we move with constant power, never ceasing, in a rhythm as one. Like the mountain we stand tall and strong. Like the brightest star we shine forever. We brighten heaven and bring our heavenly light into the world. Or more accurately, we lift the world up to join with us in our heavenly light. This world needs our light and love and joy, just as each flower and tree needs sun and water.

We are as gentle as a breeze and as powerful as God Himself. And yet we hide our loftiness behind petty grievances; behind dark thoughts unworthy of such holy creations. We hide our Light under a bushel and forget about it for lifetimes as we allow fear to guide us instead of Truth. It’s unimaginable. And yet it’s how most of us live from day to day. And have for generations.

We think believing in our loftiness is egocentric. We think living our Truth is false. And yet the opposite is true. Living in smallness and in fear is what is false and unworthy of a Child of God. Living in the Light of God’s Love is where we belong and who we are.

When will we learn? When will we allow our light to shine and be shared? When will we claim our inheritance, our power and our truth? When will we allow Love to be our guiding force? When will we stand on the mountain top and smile kindly upon our unworthy thoughts and let them flutter away in the gentle breeze of our holiness and claim our place as creations of a glorious God Who loves us and only wants us to see and live the simple truth? We are holy. We are beauty. We are truth. We are one. When?

It is impossible to judge kindly or to attack gently. Or to feel victimized when our heart is open and compassionate. Instead of being a victim of our brothers’ and sisters’ words and actions, we understand they are showing us their pain. They need our peaceful protests and our prayers. God can deal with those things that are beyond our power to control if we lay our problems at His feet. In the meantime because of our decision to be a channel for change, we are held in the mighty Hand and Heart of God perfectly safe and totally at peace.

With our hand on our heart let us silently remember …

Kindness is connecting.
Forgiveness is freeing.
Gratitude is grace-filled.

Helpfulness is holy.
Love is Light.
God is Glorious.

Now we can forgive.  Now we can accept and feel compassion for those who think, look and live differently from us. Now we can see that those who act out in anger and fear are merely crying out for harmony and balance. They’ve lost it and they don’t know where to find it. And that’s a terrifying thing.  But we know where it is.

We find it within in the still and quiet place where God lives in each one of us. And we can use this new understanding to help those who don’t yet know what we know. Instead of reacting in kind to those who seem to be attacking us, let’s grow still and calm and ask God to help us help them.  Our prayer is, “God, let me be a channel for peace today. Amen.” “Light and joy and peace abide in me.” A Course In Miracles

And even though gratitude may not be on our mind right now, let us trust that those who have left us are safe and at peace in God. And for that we can be grateful as we say as one, Thank You, Heavenlly Source of Oneness!

In God our way is clear and the smile of confidence on our face fills our being giving us these thoughts, “Lead on Holy Source of all things Good. Lead on.”

God’s grace is constant like the sun. It is we who change and move close then move away and back again in a dance of alternating fear and joy. When we think God isn’t listening or helping it’s because we’ve plugged our own ears and turned away from Him. Often without even knowing what we’re doing. We blindfold ourselves to the truth. God is always open and accessible and there for us, but we are full of secrets from the past and anxieties about the future.  God works openly, not in mysterious ways.

We put up protective defenses and cloud our experiences of God’s grace by our lack of trust and our determination to remain separate and independent not only from our Source but also from each other. We celebrate Independence Day which is fine, but what if we also had a Oneness Day? And that day was every day?

The time always comes that we crave our holiness and His gentleness and grace and our Oneness once again. This can’t be helped. We can’t fight or hide from our own Truth indefinitely. We can’t ignore our light and His gifts to us forever. At some point, we must grow still and breathe in the Holy Air of God. We must rest gratefully in God’s blessedness and thank Him for His Holy Presence in our lives. We must because it is only then we can feel whole and healed. We want that feeling. We know somewhere within ourselves that God’s Love is all that we can trust. The simple truth is that we are a ray of God’s constant Light and we are only happy in those moments when we look within and remember that.

Let’s envision ourselves on a swing. As we swing closer to the Light we experience the glory of God’s Love. When we swing away we experience the fears of the world. But if we ask for His help, God will gently remove us from the swing and keep us in the safety of His Light forever; right inside His Heart where we belong. And now we breathe freely and as we bask in the Light and Grace and Oneness of our own truth we can’t stop smiling as we remember, “I am as God created me.” A Course In Miracles  One with Him and all of His  Creations.

“My true validation comes from God.”

We cannot allow ourselves to be defined by other people’s opinions.
Self confidence is seeing other’s opinions of us without judgment or attachment
and being able to say to ourselves calmly and kindly, without
emotional investment, “Well, that’s their opinion. And the opinions of others
are none of my business.” This is done with a calm and quiet mind and a
compassionate heart.

Very few people in this world are not affected by the judgments of
others.  Almost everyone feels they need to be validated by an outside
source. When they’re not validated they feel bad about themselves and when they
are they feel good about themselves. The problem with that is that other
people’s opinions are about them and not us at all. Each one of us brings
judgments and perceptions from our own past experiences which color our way of
seeing.  Our judgments can even change from moment to moment depending
upon our mood, our level of restfulness, our own sense of value or lack thereof
and a myriad of other conditions.  And some will judge us one way and
others the opposite.

In this sense it’s clear that counting on someone else’s judgment as
a way to define us is to ride a crazy roller coaster that is being controlled
by someone outside of us who has their own lessons and issues. This is true
whether we’re talking about a job interview, a workplace situation or
a personal relationship. To be truly happy we have to get off that roller
coaster and let God be our Guide and our Holy Validator.  That is true
validation and it comes from an Inside Source.

God always validates us lovingly.

Love’s gentle lessons live in kind thoughts and acts. This will bring us happiness.

Nothing hurts us but our own thoughts. Nothing heals us but our own willingness to let go of the hurting thoughts. Don’t hold the pain from the past reliving it again and again. It’s over.  It’s time to let it go.

Let’s allow joy and love to flow through so we can move another step higher on our path to peace. And do this with kindness and gentleness. Again and again and again.

“Let us be still and listen for the truth.” A Course In Miracles

“I am misting my life with Love today.”

As we would mist a precious plant, let us mist the space before us with the holy Love that lives within us and then we will walk through it with the divinity of Angels. As we do this, we can see through the light of our inner vision that our thoughts are lifted from fear and darkness into light and replaced with healing. 

Now, let us stay here today, leaving all doubt behind and knowing that no matter how it looks or how it feels, God’s in charge and guiding us on our perfect path.  If we leave the path for a time, we need only take God’s hand and He will bring us back to Him. It’s all about surrendering our life to God and then trusting that He is really here working only for our good. In this way we are misting our lives with Love today. And  the essence of peace and calm will follow us everywhere we go. And we will learn from our mistakes.

Now, let us mist the world and all our brothers and sisters with this same love knowing we are One. Let’s allow divisiveness and dissension to be transformed into gratitude and love for every man, woman and child as we remember we have a greater purpose.  That purpose is healing. That purpose is remembering the truth. We are all God’s glorious creations.

If someone seems unloveable, love them more.

If someone speaks another language, understand them deeper.

If someone worships another religion, respect their right to know God in their own way.

If someone seems different, know in their heart they are the same.

If someone looks hungry, offer to feed them.

If someone is afraid, comfort them.

If someone is sick, pray for them.

If someone is lonely, befriend them.

If someone seems angry, bless them.

If you are afraid, sick, hungry, lonely or angry, reach out for help.

Don’t act out, reach out.

Reach out and find God’s loving arms reaching back and providing all the help you need.  

Hope lives in simple thoughts and kind acts. Hope lives in knowing you can ask for help and God provides it.  When you help another, you help yourself.

“Help me answer all my fear-filled thoughts with peace.”

Fear speaks first.  That’s why the world seems so insane. Fear’s voice is easily recognized. It sounds like an unhappy three year old as it tantrums its way into our minds distracting us with raucous shrieks until we give it all of our attention.  Or it surges through us like an insidious and silent swirl of muddy feelings and fills our hearts and every aspect of our being with dark dread.

Fear separates us and divides us and makes us think there is a them and us. It brings hate into our minds and hearts and pushes Love away. Fear is the reason we cannot find peace. Fear hides our light behind a black cloud of nothingness we believe in so strongly that we have forgotten who we are. God cannot be found in fear, not because of Him, but because of us. We close our eyes and ears and minds and hearts and worship fear instead of Love.

When we finally choose to take a breath, calm our mind, smile into our heart and surrender these intolerable emotions, sweet and gentle Peace, who has been waiting in the wings is allowed to flow free. And our minds and hearts are filled with quiet joy.

The insanity is interrupted and Love becomes the power in which we function. While fear just disappears. And we see what deep inside ourselves, we have known all along, God speaks our Truth, Love is real and fear is nothing at all. And the light dawns once more. The world is at peace and health and safety are as natural as breathing.

“I will see myself as God sees me today.”

Let’s stand together on the top of the mountain and look down on the world. Not as a small insignificant being, but as the mountain itself. From this vantage point we can almost see what God sees, ourselves as majestic beings and holy creations of a power so lofty that we cannot even imagine it. And yet it is the truth of us.

Even the seeming most lowly of us is the most high. From here, our beauty takes our breath away. Our power to give and receive love is beyond awesome.

In God’s eyes we are a thing of wonder. And when we join forces from this place of truth we cannot be stopped.

Like the ocean, we move with constant power, never ceasing, in a rhythm as one. Like the mountain we stand tall and strong. Like the brightest star we shine forever. We brighten heaven and bring our heavenly light into the world. Or more accurately, we lift the world up to join with us in our heavenly light. This world needs our light and love and joy, just as each flower and tree needs sun and water.
